About Me

I’m Becky.
I’m married with 3 kids and 2 cats.
Life is busy, I run 2 businesses and try my best to keep up with everything everyone else is doing.
I have ridiculous expectations of myself, I want a house like the ones I see on Instagram, I want to travel the world, and I want to give my kids the world and show them the world too.
In reality, I spend all my days working and rushing from one place to another, usually for the kids and feeling like I’m not getting anywhere.
I love to save money where I can – whether it’s cashback, discount vouchers or any other way I can, if it means I can have more time with my family and give them what they need and want I will give it a go.

I’m a big fan of Ice Hockey- Sheffield Steelers in particular.
Love music and comedy gigs – A big Foo Fighters fan but am currently disappointed with Dav Grohl’s actions.
I’m a Millennial forever stuck comparing life to what it was like in the late 90’s early 00’s.
My pre-children days were spent mostly backpacking and saving for backpacking in rubbish jobs before settling down and working in the travel industry.

Misadventures of a Bad Mum is a blog about my family life – I love being a mum but I always feel like I’m a bad one.
I think that as a mum you generally can’t do right for doing wrong. If you work you’re bad, if you stay at home it’s bad, if you buy everything you’re bad, if you buy them nothing you’re bad etc.
And honestly, I think if you’re a mum and worrying about whether you’re doing enough – you are.
Society vilifies all mums no matter what we do.
I’m just trying to embrace motherhood and realise that I am doing my best even if it’s not the same as what everyone is doing, it’s MY best.
Only taken me 16 years to figure that one out!

Thanks for reading and popping by!
